Presentation

Patient presents to the ER with sudden onset, crushing substernal chest pain that began 45 minutes ago while shoveling snow. He states the pain radiates to his left jaw and down the medial aspect of his left arm.

Medical History

History of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and a 30-pack-year smoking habit.

Examination

Patient is diaphoretic (sweaty) and tachycardic. ECG shows ST-segment elevations in leads V1-V4, suggesting an acute anterior myocardial infarction.
